Drink Activations In London This Week

If you’re into free drinks and social media, London is the place to be this week. There’s always a handful of activations that can be found in Central London. This year we’ve seen Magnum’s Dipping Bar, Evian’s Pop Up Shop and Lipton Ice Tea’s waterslide all contribute to further amplifying their brand’s name.

Fans like to be rewarded for staying loyal to your brand and activations like this are one of the most effective ways to do exactly that. When consumers are rewarded or impressed, they’re more inclined to share online and work towards to amplifying your brand.

There are some great examples taking place in London this week.

#InnocentCoconutWater Pop-up

Yesterday Innocent Drinks set up an Emoji Café in Boxpark for the evening. The Coconut Watering Hole was set up in Shoreditch to promote the brand’s latest drink, their coconut water. Innocent didn’t just invite consumers to try their coconut water, they offered a small range of mocktails – made with the coconut water – instead. The creativity didn’t stop there though as all the brand asked for was an Instagram upload in exchange for a drink. Each drink cleverly had its own hashtag and guests were encouraged to upload a photo of themselves in the watering hole to Instagram, to place an order.

Coca-Cola’s Twitter-powered vending machine

 


Similarly to Innocent, Coca-Cola are incorporating social media into their activations too. This time the brand are utilising Twitter instead by asking fans to tweet their favourite variant of Coca-Cola alongside the hashtag #ChooseHappiness. The installation comes in form of a vending machine currently placed at Waterloo station. Using Tweets as currency again, after consumers tweet their favourite drink it then appears on the installation as it dispenses a free matching t-shirt!

The interactive brand experience can be found at Waterloo station until 14th August. You’ll have to visit Paddington (17th August) and King’s Cross (24th August) after that.
