London Olympic Games Sculpture to become world’s longest helter-skelter

London Olympic Games Sculpture to become world’s longest helter-skelter

Do you remember back in 2012 when London hosted the Olympic Games and The ArcelorMittal Orbit was built? Although it is already a pretty epic and permanent lasting legacy, the new venue space has just submitted a planning application for it to be turned into helter-skelter.  Not only would this be the world’s tallest helter-skelter, it will also be the tallest too.

Due to open in 2016, the slide will run from the platforms of the obscure structure right down to the ground level. That’s right! In 2016, you can take a ride in a glass tube and get a brief glimpse of the London skyline from 376 feet up.

The feature is going to be available to groups booking private and corporate events but we think brands should get in on this too. Can you imagine if Lipton Ice Tea launched their ‘Ride and Slide’ event within a helter-skelter instead? The social amplification would have been even more immense.

Will you be booking a ride next year?
How else would you like to see ArcelorMittal utilise this space?
