Brands, Hallowe’en and social media promotion

Hallowe’en is around the corner and here at Wolf HQ excitement is building.

In the UK, Hallowe’en is becoming much more of a thing. In the US it has always been a massive eventand a growing influence from the states has just made it even bigger over here.

We have been getting ready for Hallowe’en for a couple of weeks now and it’s getting a little too much to handle, especially the guys on the social media team.

Brands have been getting all over it this year. Recently Tesco released their Spookermarket video online that has now had over 1 million views.

GIFs are becoming more popular with brands on Twitter and we have seen more and more examples of them being used effectively over the past few months (hats off to Starbucks here). Halloween has seen another rise of the GIF especially through ‘how-tos’ from brands. This one from Sainsbury’s is a favourite at the moment.

Alongside fun little campaigns, there are also a variety of exclusive products just for Hallowe’en.

This year, Starbucks have brought out a limited edition Vampire Frappuccino for one week only. With over 500 retweets, it’s definitely set to be popular, even if it’s just for a limited time.

Other brands are actually no strangers to the Hallowe’en fun. Once again Lush have gone above and beyond with their exclusive seasonal products. Lush Cosmetics fans and beauty fans across the country wait for the Hallowe’en collection with much anticipation. With the growing number of beauty bloggers in the UK too, they certainly get enough publicity now without even having to try,

So there we have it. A snapshot of our favourite Hallowe’en things from social media so far! Which are your favourites?
